Every once in a while I cave, but I feel guilty through and through when I do.

It's the cheeseburgers, fries, and the hot fudge sundae (hold the
nuts) that do it. There was a period when I was 16, a summer, when this
combination of food played a larger role in my diet than I care to
remember. Then I stopped eating there, except for some fries every once
in a while in college. Then I read Fast Food Nation,
and stopped eating there all together. Then slowly slowly it happened.
. . beginning with a late night intoxicated visits to the
sketchy LES location, and followed up by a 6 hour 4th of july weekend
drive up Rt 95, I caved. I still take comfort in that it is only on
road trips and to satisfy intense cravings that I resort to it. Because
really? They are an awful awful organization that buys its meat from
highly questionable sources and treats their employees worse than the
"cows" who provide the "meat" get treated. . .

I used to seriously get down at a McDonald's, ordering all sorts of
food. Over time, due to multiple bad experiences with both the
food and the service, I'd avoided that place like the plague.

I've seen "Super Size Me," and read "Fast Food Nation," and agree with
a lot of what's said. At the same time, though, I do enjoy the
occasional hash brown, which is not any worse for me than if I made
hash browns at home.

The trick to McDonald's is intelligent eating, not gorging yourself.
Fast Food Nation, blah, blah, blah. But everything in moderation, my
